I bit the bullet – and actually ordered a controller PCB! – I Bring to you…..
The Spectrum Next Super LED Blinkenator Two Thousand!
Spent altogether too long aligning , printing, checking, aligning –
and, below you can see the result – a 3D Printed board – partially installed with the header pins aligned to the Next….AND the coloured inserts poked out, leaving 1.8mm holes in the case –
I’ve held the combination up to a monitor to show that the PCB is perfectly aligned with the 19.05mm pitch holes in the case AND the J15 header…
(the image shows a slight apparent misalignment due to barrel distortion in the lens)
Here’s the new PCB – new arduino location and breakaway tab for soldered / solderless insstallation – Also there’s a new J15 ‘pass through’ jumper present……
There’s quite a few features on this new board – I’ll list them soon enough. I’ve ordered 10 for the first batch
Last hardware task remaining now is the resin printed inserts…….
There”ll be a couple of weeks till the new PCB’s arrive – then i’ll be able to finally test the insert PCB’s INSIDE A REAL NEXT to see if this actually works!…..if 6 LED’s aren’t enough per insert strip, I may have a cunning plan………………….
