There’s Plenty of Volume – But what switches can be used to put inside the keyboard?
I’m not too worried about the electronics side right now, there’s plenty of Arduino keyboard emulator tutorials out there.
Looking at the ‘holes’ on the rear of the keyboard, the ones representing the smallest keyboard buttons have a tapered inner
The Smallest inner dimension is 5.1mm x 5.1mm right at bottom of the hole which is at the ‘top’ of the key
The widest dimesion is about 6.6mm x 6.6mm at the base of the key
Outer dimensions are about 8.8 x 8.8mm
Hole depth varies depending on the key locations – from 6.7mm to 5.4mm
Armed with all this, I can place restrictions on the switch dimensions……The Maximum space available that ALL switches can fit in….Some buttons have a little more, Some less
Summary, To form a keyboard Grid……….I need to find switches that are less than 8.8mm x 8.8mm and less than 10.5mm from the PCB to the top of the switch!
Should be easy enough?
